About Us 
The $1.1 billion digital signage industry has seen explosive growth in the last several years. After evaluating the marketplace, and speaking with many stakeholders, it was concluded that the industry needed an association dedicated to digital signage covering all aspects and all vertical market segments. When discussing the needs with these stakeholders, it was said that an association is needed for the purposes of collaboration, sharing of ideas, networking and strategic partnerships. Companies also want to know where the market is going, how we can collectively grow it and consider common platforms, set certain standards and develop measurements. Finally, it is desired to have an unbiased source of education and accelerate the adoption of quality projects.

Background
The Digital Signage Association (DSA) was founded by NetWorld Alliance, the people who created and grew the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) and the Self-Service & Kiosk Association (SSKA). NetWorld publishes DigitalSignageToday.com and operates SSKA.

Purpose of the Digital Signage Association: To accelerate the growth and advance the excellence of digital signage deployments worldwide.

Objectives:
* Promote the effective uses of digital signage solutions
* Be the voice of the digital signage industry
* Inform members of important developments
* Help deployer members find solutions to their problems and improve ROI in digital signage solutions
* Create market awareness of vendor members and provide them with business opportunities, contacts and resources
* Help members operate their businesses more profitably with growth and diminished risk and cost
* Increase public acceptance of digital signage solutions

Advisory Board and Sponsors
In addition to membership, board and sponsorship opportunities are available. Companies that participate at these levels will enjoy additional exposure and networking and will be providing the funding necessary to get the organization off to a good start and complete meaningful projects.

Digital Technology Alliance
The Digital Signage Association is part of the Digital Technology Alliance (DTA) of associations whose members are involved in the utilization of advanced technology. This alliance, led by a joint Advisory Board, will deal with challenges, opportunities, solutions and platforms common to the various systems and applications of each. An example of such an issue is the subject of security and privacy. The DTA has established a committee, with members from both DSA and SSKA, to discuss this issue and facilitate solutions for their members. The alliance is currently made up of these two associations. It is expected that others will be included in the future.

Activities and Meetings
The Digital Signage Association held its first Advisory Board and Membership Meeting on February 26, 2008 in Las Vegas in conjunction with the Digital Signage Expo. The DSA also exhibited at Screen Expo Europe and the Digital Signage Expo as well as forming media/association partnerships with The Digital Signage Show and Strategy Institute's digital signage conferences.
